Barb received a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology in May 1985 from State University Of New York at Geneseo and an M.S. in Education Major in Communication Disorders in August 1986 from the College at St. Rose. She was awarded a Certificate of Clinical Competence in August 1987 and a Public School Teacher Certificate on 9/01/90. She has practiced her vocation in several settings including The Center for the Disabled, The Village Preschool and Communication Center and Children Therapy Services all within the New York area. She then expanded her private practice, to include more natural settings such as the home, daycare and educational environments and she practiced exclusively as a private practitioner in New York for 13 years.
Barb specializes working with children who possess feeding disorders, oro-motor dysfunction, receptive/expressive language disorders, auditory processing difficulty, articulation delays, childhood apraxia of speech, central auditory processing problems, autism/PDD and asperger’s, dysarthria and Cerebral Palsy. She also has extensive knowledge of augmentative communication.
In April of 2003, Ms. Anslow-Myers worked in conjunction with several professionals in the field of Early Intervention to form the organization Capitol Region Independent Service Providers. The mission of the group was to provide quality assurance and an excellence of care/therapy to children with special needs.
Barb along with her husband Darrel, and cherished Yorkie, “Kisses” (AKA “K-hound”) enjoy hiking and boating in their free time. Additionally, she has dedicated a great deal of time volunteering for several ministries and committees within her religious communities.
